My Documentary
My Documentary piece that I created during lockdown about the impact it has had on the mental health of youths and young adults.
Covid-19 has impacted the world. physically and also mentally, even outside of the virus, the impact of mental health has risen amongst people during these times and it only gets worse as the months pass. the consequences of this has produced a rise in isolation, loss of income and fear which are triggering mental health conditions or exacerbating existing ones. Many people may be facing increased levels of alcohol and drug use, insomnia, and anxiety. A study conducted by the University of London stated that 'People with pre-existing mental health conditions have reported challenges posed by the COVID-19 lockdowns, such as the loss of normal coping routines, barriers to accessing care, and unequal impacts of the pandemic, in a new study co-led by City, University of London and UCL researchers' this clearly shows how over the months, the conditions in which people are having to cope in, lead to worse habits and unhealthy strategies as time goes on. lack of routine and consistent life opportunities leads to those struggling, to suffer deeper.
