It should be a factual report on a current/past event which has affected reality in order to bring it to a worthy position.  Expository documentaries could be considered as one of the most accurate ways of shooting a film. These types of documentaries aim to inform/persuade the viewer through narration from outside the frame “voice of god”. Synopsis Someone is clicking onto the screen with the computer in focus, they click onto a link which takes them to a live video of a girl (one of us) covered in blood and sweat crying into the camera, there is a voting section to the side of the screen telling the user to decide her fate. DIE or LIVE the user will be unable to make a decision as the girls scream and plead for help continue to grow. The timer at the top of the screen hits zero and suddenly the room goes red. The girl stops screaming and instead look horrified. Just as she is about to scream again (and be murdered) the person at the other side of the screen clicks away from the tab closing the live stream. They sit back, shaking and sweating before the computer monitors light flashes on, signifying his camera is recording him. Connotations Through An Exchange [featuring Millie, Meg, Sophie and Chanel] For our exchange task, we were given the challenge of creating a short film within 20 shots of an item being exchanged between two people. The task involved keeping to a strict number of shots while still being able to perfectly demonstrate the story told. Our group had decided to pass a USB stick between two people. This was shown through Millie passing a ‘secret’ document to Sophie, with her then smuggling that into Megs pocket. We managed to use all the required shots from, match on action shots, POVs, eye-line, too wide angle and closeup shot types. Our shots all involved each element required for this task. We managed to complete filming on time with the slightest of hiccups of Megs not being there for one lesson and Millie and Sophie being called to do a video for the school’s website. THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT 8/10 THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT is about three young filmmakers, Heather Donahue, Michael Williams and Josh Leonard (actors with same names as their characters), who go out into the woods of Burkittesville, Maryland to document the mythical Blair Witch for a project. They are never found, but a year later their footage is discovered. I didn’t find the Movie scary, it was just filled with a lot of suspense and tension, especially between actors. It was an excellent idea with the original plot and execution. The way the actors demonstrated genuine reactions and believable dialogue really tie the whole film together. Most of the lines were improvised, so for them to produce such a fluent and realistic performance is impressive. The actors themselves did an amazing job, even some of the more exaggerated scenes still felt chillingly real. We might see THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT as something which is ‘overhyped’ but for its time (1999) nothing had been seen like this ...
